Fern Friends

Today I prepared four Brandy Ho's to go containers for fern spore germination.
I soaked the containers in bleach water, then rinsed them out well and let them drain on paper towels. I boiled potting soil in a cheese cloth wrap and placed the soil in the bottom of the containers about 1/3 inch thick.

About a month or so ago I did the same process with Matteuccia struthiopteris spores and spores of a wild fern but as yet there are no signs of gametophytes. The species I prepared today are

-Dicksonia antarctica
-Cyathea cooperi
-Osmunda regalis
-Platycerium bifurcatum

These spores were all collected from Golden Gate Park.
